It was painted between 1924 to 1926 when Ryback returned to the Ukraine to record the Jewish kolkhozes of Ukraine and Crimea.

Provenance:  Claude Agutte, Paris, sale of the collection of Ryback's works ,from a private collection given  by the artist to Dr. Salmanoff, grand father of the current owner, 2006.
