Measures 61.5 cm in height and 74 cm in width with frame.

An exchange of letters between a former owner of the painting and the artist dating from 1941 has been preserved, in which she enquires from Brendekilde about the depicted farmstead and its location. In his reply, Brendekilde invites the writer to visit him in his studio on occasion and tells her about the farm depicted. The letters are written in Danish and are available in German translation.
