René Mayer’s recent series, Imperceptible Shift, curated by Luca Beatrice at SAB Spazio Arte Bubbio (Italy, June–August 2024), highlights his environmental concerns. Mayer incorporates casino chips, symbolizing humanity’s reckless risk-taking with nature. "We gamble with the Earth as if it were a casino, but in this game, we’re all bound to lose," Mayer explains. Through abstract forms and textured layers, he explores the unnoticed changes in our environment that accumulate over time. This series invites viewers to reflect on the fragility of nature and our impact on the planet.
