This ink drawing is signed by the artist in ink “Marc Chagall” in the lower left image.
It is also inscribed and dated “Vence. 1963”, in the lower left image.
The artist has playfully placed his signature and inscription inside the easel.

Note: This composition has been created on the half title page of the French language edition of the catalogue raisonne, ‘The Lithographs of Chagall’, Edition Sauret, Monte-Carlo, published in 1960.

Condition: Good condition. Two minor stains above the eye of the artist and the beak of the bird. A soft crease along the left sheet edge. The paper very lightly toned.
