Le chou cosmique inspiré des œuvres du peintre espagnol du XVIIe Juan Sanchez Cotàn (1560 -1627), connu pour ses nombreuses natures mortes et ses idées avant-gardistes. 

En effet, Cotàn eut l'idée de suspendre certains éléments de ses natures mortes dans un plan vertical.

Philippe Dutilleul a prolongé le mouvement du Maître en plaçant ces éléments sur un fond de ciel étoilé.

L’effet de perspective donné par le cadre de pierre est complété par les trois œufs en déséquilibre, d’où le ton surréaliste de l’œuvre.

The cosmic cabbage inspired by the works of the 17th century Spanish painter Juan Sanchez Cotàn (1560 -1627), known for his many still lifes and avant-garde ideas.

Indeed, Cotàn had the idea of suspending certain elements of his still lifes in a vertical plane.

Philippe Dutilleul extended the movement of the Master by placing these elements on a background of a starry sky.

The perspective effect given by the stone frame is completed by the three unbalanced eggs, hence the surrealist tone of the work.
