Description de l'oeuvre

What we offer is a very rare aquatint by Maestro Igor Mitoraj, made in only 99 specimens.

Mitoraj was born in Germany in 1944 of Polish mother and French father.
After having attended the Artistic High School in Bielsko-Biala, in 1963 he began to study painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Kraków, where he had as a teacher Tadeusz Kantor, who brought him near to contemporary artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Merz e Klein.

In 1968, in Paris, he continued his studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts.
In the Seventies, he spent a long time in Mexico and examined thoroughly the South-American and Aztec cultures, by showing his main interest in sculpture.
In 1976, he obtained a great success at his first solo show at the La Hune Gallery in Paris; he won the “Sculpture Award” in Montrouge and opened his own studio in Montmartre.

After numerous trips (New York, Greece, etc, etc...), in 1979 he arrived in Tuscany in Pietrasanta.
