Description de l'oeuvre

Velda Ponti was born in 1934 in Faenza, Emilia Romagna, Italy.
She has been a careful observer of the beauties of nature since she was a child, she has always placed herself in front of them in a contemplative albeit critical way, driven by the desire to interpret it.

While still a child she suffered the violent impressions of the war at the end of which, at the age of just 14, she enrolled in the painting and sculpture school of Francesco Nonni to learn the techniques, mainly pictorial, which would serve her to express the anguish and violence in her "naturalistic" sky that will continue for several years, from the metamorphosis of vegetables into terrifying animals, to the enlargement of details that lead to a brutal, almost hopeless gigantism.

From the 1950s you began to attend major exhibitions: the Venice Biennale, the Rome Quadrennial, etc.
She is impressed by the works of Pollock, Wols, Appel, De Kooning, Vedova and Fontana .
