Carlo VANCHIERI - Santa Rosalia

The whole composition moves on horizontal levels.
Starting from the blurred azure-yellow tones' taps on the background,
some little garlands - stretched like ropes and made of various shapes of tiles' games - make their presence spreading from different pink tones, opposing the strong orange and the white.
These garlands remind the ones made of pink roses that Santa Rosalia had on into the ancient pictorial representations.
Even now during Festino, the annual feast celebrating the Saint on July 15th in Palermo , women use to put these little garlands on their forehead.
This one just wants to be a simple homage to the most intrinsic nature of the City of Palermo.
