Technique: Hand Signed and Numbered Etching with Aquatint in Colours on BFK Rives Wove Paper
Additional Information: This etching and aquatint in colours is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Miró", in the lower right margin.
It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition, in the lower left margin.
This work was printed by Atelier Crommelynck, Paris and published by Maeght, Paris in 1959.
The paper bears the partial BFK watermark in the lower right corner and the blind stamp of the printer in the lower left corner.
Note: This work is based on an untitled painting from 1949 by Miró (which is recorded in the catalogue raisonné of painting Dupin 725). It demonstrates Miró’s humorous and surreal imagery, incorporating the artist’s signature bold line and colouring with a delicate wash for the background.
