Head of Daphne in Blue (triptych) is part of the “LIVING GODS” exhibition. For the series, Reinar Foreman was inspired by Antiquity's legends and stories, seeking to reinterpret myths by updating them to contemporary audiences. Halfway between figurative art and abstraction, he shows the powerful, sometimes severe, nature of human emotions, with simplified but vibrant shapes and colors. This complex vision of ancient mythology gives Foreman's paintings a particular magic. The triptych consist of three studies for Daphne's face in the painting Apollo and Daphne, from the same exhibition.
