Description de l'oeuvre

The painting attitude by Nino De Luca, born in Naples in 1965, seems to be constantly keen to research limits, such as the barely visible border which separates sea or land from the sky, the visibile from the invisible, the abstract from the figure, in an uncertain and unavoidable scenario where spatial conditions seem to be restricted to minimal coordinates of a rarefaction which stretches out to the unlimited. The artist is committed to discover the hidden quality of the colors, the disguised substance in the chromatic matter, locked up in its shape and its secret existence, revoked and exalted by the detailed and quiet gestures of the painter.
During his artistic journey, De Luca has embraced the tradition of the classic and the expressionist art and “nordic” path undertaken by Permeke and Nolde, along with Turner’s light mystery and the great naturalistic-moulded informal current, whilst also heading to a personal and autonomous expressive scheme.
