Francis Dodd RA, British portrait and landscape artist, draughtsman and printmaker.  Eltham, London is very close to where Dodd lived in Blackheath - an area which was well known to him and within walking distance.  It's a local topic, popular with those familiar with London and typical of an early morning pre-war metropolitan scene, walking the children to school.
