"Mother with Children along a Country Road" by Hermann Schlegel (German 1860-1917)

    * Signed at lower right H. Sch.
    * Child's dress looks to be Dutch.
    * 14" x 6" oil on stretched canvas.
    * 19th century frame 18 3/4" x 10 3/4" overall
       in excellent condition.
    * "CLASS "B"" in black on back of top stretcher.
    * Two great watercolors by Schlegel are in the Royal Collection Trust depicting Schloss Schonberg, near Oberwesel, Saxony, Germany. They were given to Queen Victoria in 1887 as a jubilee gift of the Gentlemen of the household of The Grand Duke of Hesse.
