Description de l'oeuvre

Artwork by Velda Ponti, acrylic on canvas, dating back to 2003.
In excellent condition, coming from a private collection.

Velda Ponti was born in 1934 in Faenza, Emilia Romagna, Italy.
She has been a careful observer of the beauties of nature since she was a child, she has always placed herself in front of them in a contemplative albeit critical way, driven by the desire to interpret it.

From the 1950s she began to attend major exhibitions: the Venice Biennale, the Rome Quadrennial, etc.

Her original inspiration is linked to expressionism and the conception of a natural and spontaneous art: later she gradually abandons the expressionist influence, without losing the pleasure for colors, simplicity and irony.

Among her direct interlocutors: Mattia Moreni and the Cobra group of Karel Appel and Asger Jorn.

Present at the main national collectives, there are numerous personal exhibitions dedicated to her.
