Oil on cardboard signed « E.Anderson » on lower left part & stamped « Ed Anderson » on verso. German private collection. 

As a landscape painter, etcher and lithographer, he chose motifs from East Prussia, especially from Königsberg and the Curonian Spit. From 1897 to 1920 he was in charge of the engraving collection of the Albertus University in Königsberg and from 1910 to 1927, in charge of the art collections of the city of Königsberg. From 1910 to 1932 he was secretary on the board of directors of the Königsberger Kunstverein. He founded the picture gallery in Königsberg Castle and initiated the City History Museum in the Kneiphöfschen town hall, of which he became the first director in 1927. He was brother of the writer Lydia Timper-Anderson (1867-1935).
