Wei Luning, born in 1952 in Rizhao, Shandong, started his creative journey in the Lanzhou Military Region in 1969. After completing his service in 1974, he enrolled in the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Normal University. Currently, he is an esteemed member of the China Artists Association and holds multiple prestigious roles including director of the Jiangsu Artists Association and chairman of the Xuzhou Artists Association. Graduating from Nanjing Normal University in 1976, Wei Luning also serves as the director of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Association, member of the Jiangsu Oil Painting Art Committee, and researcher at the China Ink Art Research Institute.
