Vanni Viviani was an Italian artist known for his work as a painter, illustrator, and set designer. He was born in Florence, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts where he later taught as a professor.

Viviani was known for his surrealist and fantastical paintings, which featured dreamlike landscapes, surreal creatures, and symbolic imagery. His work was heavily influenced by the Italian Renaissance, as well as Giorgio de Chirico and René Magritte.

In addition to his painting, Viviani was also a prolific illustrator and designer. He illustrated many books, He also designed sets for theater and film productions, including Federico Fellini's film "Casanova" (1976).

Viviani exhibited his work widely including at the Venice Biennale and the São Paulo Biennial. He received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1999. Today, his work is held in the collections of museums and galleries around the world.
