Walter Henry Goldsmith was born in London, England.
A prolific landscape painter who specialized in painting rural and coastal scenes in England and Scotland. He studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London and went on to become a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
Goldsmith exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and other prestigious art institutions in England and Europe. Goldsmith's paintings can be found in many public collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. His works are also held in private collections and frequently appear at auction.
