The Queen was created on a box canvas. The image of the Queen is taken from the front page of a newspaper the day after her death. This piece of artwork is a combination of layered paint, collage, coin rubbings and a solitary stamp in the top right corner of the canvas.

I started the process by gluing the face of the Queen in the upper middle of the canvas. I then cut out a reflection of the image from the back of the newspaper and inverted it under the first image. This was to convey the message that everyone will have a different opinion of the Queen when they see her face. After this, I proceeded to build up layers of paint around the images to complete an energetic circle/oblong surrounding the canvas. To me, that represents the circle of life.
