Arthur Wilson Gay was a still life and portrait artist.
Little is known of his early years or education. Gay was elected as a member of the Bristol Savages in 1928. Founded in 1894 by Ernest Ehlers, fellow Bristol-based artists were invited to spend friendly evenings in his studio working and talking. Numbers grew and by 1904 this led to the official founding of the Bristol Savages and similar weekly meetings continue to be held weekly, however, the name has since changed to Bristol 1904 Arts.
