Acrylic Tempera, Indian Ink on thick cardboard monogrammed and dated 'HST 59' lower right. Signed in pencil on verso « a.r.Penck » with a stamp "Johs.Hacker". Penck did sign with the acronym initials « HST » for Harry S. Truman (1884-1972) who authorized the bombings of Hiroshima  & Nagasaki. It obviously reminded him of the Dresden bombings 7 months sooner. Analysis confirmed in the characters where digits « 4 » & « 5 » also remember Dresden as the graves crosses on bottom left & roof on the scene falling down in parts on left part. Historical painting.
