Description de l'oeuvre

Repurposed lead type, welded together to form the haunted face of this piece, is cast in aluminum by Dale Dunning. The addition of wings complete the narrative in this piece of Daedalus who in Greek mythology was a skilled craftsman and the father of the doomed Icarus. Ovid in the Metamorphoses relates how Daedalus constructed wings with feather and wax for both he and his son, Icarus. Both took flight but Icarus soared too close to the sun. The wax in the wings melted and he quickly feel in the sea and drowned.
