In his couture series, Peter Hoffer explores the theater of fashion through a reinterpreted runway. In this mixed media painting, a realistically rendered model for the Italian luxury fashion house Fendi is juxtaposed with suggestive collage. A shallow plexiglass box is fit to the front of the painting, encapsulating and sealing it as if to capture a moment in time.

Peter Hoffer (b. 1965, Brantford, ON) holds an MFA. from Concordia University and degrees from the University of Guelph and OCAD University. He has lived and worked in Toronto, New York City, Paris, Montreal and Berlin.
