Signed by Dali and Gala. "Dali" there is the center of the work  is the shell of a snail that pays three tears. GALA is associated with this drawing so personal. At his death, he shouted, "I'm a snail '...
The snail is a symbol or fetish objects that Dalí used to make more significant message of his painting. Contrast to a hard shell and a soft  interior which is consistent with the notion that individuals make hard
defenses around the vulnerable psyche and flexible. It is linked to his  meeting with Sigmund Freud in 1938 in London he considered as his spiritual father. Claiming not to believe in chance, he said, "I saw a snail on a bicycle in front of the house of Freud." Combining therefore the snail a human head, he was fascinated by the natural geometry of the shell, by the duality of its hard exterior and the interior soft. Provenance : Public auction Paris.
