Jorge Piqueras was born in Lima (Perù) in 1925. He has been recognized as one of the most important Peruvian sculptors of the twentieth century. Among contemporary Latin American artists, he is also a pioneer in geometric painting. Piqueras’ work covers a wide range of materials and media, including sculpture, painting, collage, photography and assemblage. He was a close friend of Jorge Oteiza and Marcel Duchamp, whom he considered his mentors as well as models.

The conservation status of the work is excellent. No restoration has been done.
