Later, Stamos scorched his own reputation during a famous 1972-75 court case involving his role as an executor of the estate of his painter-friend, Mark Rothko. The trial concluded in 1975 with a $9.2 million judgement against Stamos and the Marlborough Gallery in New York. Teaching: ASL; Columbia Univ; Brandeis Univ.
