Comments: Gotfried Mass was listed in NYC directories from 1840 to 1847 as an engraver and from 1850 to 1853 as a straw hat maker and French milliner. Philadelphia directories list a Godfrey Mass as an engraver in 1857-58. The two are presumably the same man.
