biographie de Henry W. VOIGT (c.1880)

Birth place: Germany

Addresses: NYC (active 1870s-80s)

Profession: Printer, lithographer, etcher, engraver

Comments: Director of the printing firm, Kimmel & Voigt, beginning in 1879 he worked closely with S.R. Koehler (see entry) in printing the etchings for Koehler"s American Art Review. As a fine art printer, he used electroplating to coat the copper plates with steel, thereby allowing a far greater number of impressions in editions. He worked with many prominent American etchers through the 1880s.
