Ch.ACO, Chile Arte Contemporáneo, is Chile’s largest contemporary art fair. Created in 2009, it is held in Santiago every year at the beginning of spring, managing to bring together an average of 45.000 visitors over five days. Since 2011, the fair is set up at Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho, one of the city’s greatest patrimonial landmarks. In 2014, this same place shall host the fair’s sixth version, along with the participation of both national and international galleries that shall exhibit and sell the works of hundreds of artists.

Sponsored by the Fundación de Artes Visuales Asociados (FAVA), the Ch.ACO Art Fair has two main objectives: to assist the creation of the visual arts industry in Chile, and to promote the practice of collecting as an engine for the country’s patrimonial growth. In this way, the fair establishes itself as a transversal platform for the diffusion of visual arts, in which the participating galleries are the event’s great protagonists, accompanied by varied programs such as discussion groups, contests, and an editorial section, amongst others.
