ART AND THE LAKE AT THEIR MOST
ATTRACTIVE
Messe Dornbirn fair invites you to come and visit the 14th Art Bodensee
from 11 to 13 July
The Art Bodensee is firmly established in the strong international
field of art fairs. In mid-July the Bodensee region is at its most
attractive. And anyone looking to combine this with art in the area has
definitely found the right place at the 14th Art Bodensee in Dornbirn.
These are only two good reasons why the Art Bodensee is the perfect
place to combine the beautiful with the useful. Since its inauguration
in 2001, this relatively young exclusive fair for contemporary art has
also remained young as far as the programme is concerned. As a platform
for contemporary art, for newcomers and secret tips, for regional and
international key players in the world of art, it attracts visitors and
collectors from the four-country block of Austria, Germany, Switzerland
and Liechtenstein. "The attraction and appeal of the Art Bodensee rises
and falls with its quality and diversity. It is already clear that this
year's fair will offer even more than in previous years in both
aspects", says project manager Isabella Marte with delight.
Messe Dornbirn's Hall 13 will once again provide a spectacular
framework for regional and international galleries focussing on modern
and contemporary art. The more experimental part of the Art Bodensee is
located in Hall 14, which offers abundant space for sculptures and
installations.
Special exhibition: Works from the Margit Biedermann collection
Besides international artists and galleries, the Art Bodensee this year
again showcases an exceptional special exhibition – this time with
selected works from the Museum Biedermann. Collector Margit Biedermann,
who in 2009 fulfilled her dream of having her own private museum in
Donaueschingen, is already looking forward to the guest appearance in
Dornbirn: "I was utterly convinced by the Art Bodensee and its special
flair. For those who are interested in contemporary art, this is the
right location! I am already looking forward to being able to display
works from my collection at the 14th Art Bodensee in a special
exhibition."
Supporting programme
A top-class supporting programme for collectors, gallery owners and
guests completes the cultural offer of the Art Bodensee 2014, which
includes dialogue forums, performances, a VIP programme and the
exclusive Collector's View. "Our aim is to make young art accessible to
all the many art-loving fair visitors by way of a selected programme,
but at the same time to also showcase the established cultural
environment of Vorarlberg with its innovative architectural and
creative scene", says Isabella Marte.
Featured artist
The State of Vorarlberg has this year again collaborated with the Messe
Dornbirn fair in sponsoring the appearance of an artist from
Vorarlberg, who will have the opportunity to exhibit their work to a
keen art fair audience at the Art Bodensee. This year, curator Harald
Gfader has chosen artist Cäcilia Falk, who is originally from
Vorarlberg and now lives in Vienna, to present her art.
New features in the Art Bodensee programme are the "arty" hotel
partnerships with the Hotel Hirschen in Schwarzenberg and the Hotel
Schwärzler in Bregenz, where guests can enjoy a sophisticated meal in
the midst of contemporary art, and also stay over. Early birds – and
with a great deal of luck also last-minute bookers – can take advantage
of the special "Art Bodensee Package" offered by Begrenzerwald
Tourismus. The package includes half-board hotel accommodation, free
entry to the Art Bodensee and all Bregenzer Guest Card amenities
